Michael Lukachko holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a BFA in painting from the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. He also received a diploma from L'Istituto per l'arte e il restauro in Florence, Italy where he studied restoration and was fortunate enough to train in several Italian workshops. Learning the ancient crafts of marquetry and gilding and discovering the evocative quality of Italian Renaissance tarsia panels dramatically changed his approach to making art and continues to influence him to this day.
